APPLICATIONS:
1. Due to low flame spread and smoke generation, due to UNUSUAL HIGH ELONGATION (min. 400%), modified PVDF is extruded to insulate wire and cable in computers and other electrical and electronic equipment, to jacket plenum-rated able for voice and video devices and alarm systems.
2. Extruded sheets are applied for lining of chemical reactors and vessels, columns in petrochemical and chemical industries, galvanic baths.
3. Extruded film has unique piezoelectric (10 times larger than observed in any other polymer) and pyroelectric properties applied for manufacturing thermal camera sensors and battery applications .
4. By injection and compression molding PVDF can be fabricated into parts of chemical-processing equipment: solid components, fittings, piping (PVDF is the only fluoroplastic available in rigid pipe form), pumps, tubes, valves.
5. Heat-shrinkable tubing of PVDF is used as a protective cover on resistors and diodes, as an encapsulant over soldered joints.
